Repeatedly, I am impressed by the great artistic talent coming from Switzerland. Although being a rather small country, many internationally renowned contemporary artists have Swiss origins. One of them is Felice Varini (born in Locarno in 1952). Felice is based in Paris, and has also been described as”an anti-Mona Lisa.” What I particularly like about his work are the geometric perspective-localized paintings in rooms and other spaces, using projector-stencil techniques. Varini is fascinated by architecture as backdrop for his artwork and seeks unusual spaces with varying planes of depth for his installations which can grow to be quite impressive. Browse through the gallery to find out more about his dramatic art.
