I am a huge fan of F.C. Gundlach’s work, one of the most esteemed German fashion photographers. He is also an art curator, collector and donor. Gundlach’s oeuvre is extensive and covers fashion from the postwar years, which entailed a sense of confidence positivity and optimism, to the beginning of postmodernism, from Paris Haute Couture to Prêt-à-Porter, and from Berlin Chic to the colorful designs of the 1980s. I particularly like the use of black and white motives, the usage of the destroyed Berlin architecture and iconic sports cars as well as undoubtedly the unique fashion pieces by Heinz Oestergaard.
